Primosten is a very nice, pleasant and popular holiday town situated north of Rogoznica and South of Sibenik. It is surrounded by 7 smaller islands on the Dalmatian Coast. It gets very busy in High Season with visiting Yachts. The Original Town was built on an Island and surrounded by walls to protect itself from the Invading Turks. In the 16th Century, a Causeway was built to connect it to the mainland.
Today the former walls have been demolished and development has begun. There are 2 tiny harbours which provide adequate shelter for the summertime. The Town still has many ancient stone Houses, Churches and there are cafes, bars, restaurants and lots of places to visit.
Primosten has good links to Split Airport and is a great starting point for charter to the Kornati Islands. The Town of Primosten has been voted one of the most picturesque towns in Croatia. It has beautiful beaches and there are numerous facilities such as: Sailing, Diving, Snorkeling, Tennis, Volleyball and Bowling.
