Tioman Island is the largest in a group of 64 volcanic islands which are located 20 miles off the South East Coast of Malaysia. The Island is 22 miles long and almost 7 miles wide. The Island was formerly voted as one of the World's most beautiful by Time Magazine. Tioman Island is a huge nature reserve for Land and Marine Lovers. There are Giant Squirrels, Flying Squirrels, Mouse deer as well as over 100 unique Bird Species.
Tioman Island first became famous in the 1958 Film, South Pacific. The island is equally famed for its excellent white Coral Reefs for Diving and Snorkeling. Tioman has some incredible palm-lined white sandy beaches, Tropical waterfalls and lush Green Mountains. Divers, Bird Watchers, Nature lovers and walkers, come from all over the world, to experience this magnificent place.
The archipelago is accessible; with good connections to the mainland from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Mersing. There are also ferries and speedboats that operate a regular service in High Season. Tioman is a Duty Free Island and is quieter than Langkawi and Penang.
